German MG's

Anyone else just realize that the Wehrmacht should have the MG34's and the OKW should have the MG42's? The MG42 was bad in cold weather and was rarely used on the soviet front because of it, plus most of the Eastern Front's famous battles were fought early in the war before the MG42's debut.

Since the OKW was the late war faction they almost always fielded 42's over 34's because the 42 was, other than the temperature issues, just better. Also I think this is why the USF Riflemen have so many quotes geared specifically towards the MG42.

The U.S. took the MG42s psychological effects seriously due to the U.S. troops being inexperienced compared to other nations. It was important to prepare them as much as possible due to the difference in experience between themselves and the troops they would be facing, later in the war you don't tend to hear as much about the effects of the mg42 because of the experience the men had acquired.

They should, but the game wasn't made in a realistic environment for that. People would have been like "wtf wheres my MG42 thumbs down this game!" on Steam reviews.

TBH - both Ostheer and OKW should have both MG-34 and MG-42. It's the same faction IFRL, after all. As for in-game implementation - it's either "MG team" with MG-34 or MG-42 randomly, or the same "MG team" initially having the MG-34 and starting to have the MG-42 after some general (i.e. made in the production building) upgrade like "Rearm with MG-42". Pretty much the same with the infantry squads' LMGs.
The same is with Soviets - they initially had the Maxim 1910/30 and received the SG-43 - this thing - in 1943. This could be implemented in the game, but never will (due to the Relic's bias against Russians) - along with Theater of War from 1943, let alone 1944 and 1945.

It is just a game, and at the end of the day Relic are hardly going to add two machine gun teams. One better than the other but costing 50 extra manpower.

    Thats just dumb.

On the subject of MGs, German Panzergrenadier vehicles had two MGs, an MG34 on the top of the vehicle facing forwards for infantry support and suppression fire with an MG42 as the squad MG when they dismounted

Sure, except that most German vehicles actually had the mg34 as the co-axial mg-mount, due to the mg42's inability to be incorporated into a fixed structure...!

The mg42 was almost exclusively used on vehicles as the pintle mounted mg... All other vehicle mg's was in 99% of the cases the mg34...

They should both have both since they made millions of both, thought the MG42 was a tad more likely to end up with the infantry since a number of MG34s always had to be set aside for vehicle mounts.
