Greetings, dear friends!
Approaching the most important holiday, a holiday that will forever remain in our hearts. 4 long years the Soviet people shed their blood, people put life on the altar of victory for us that we now live in peace , to give us the right to life. All our land is soaked in blood, our blood, road to Berlin is lined with dead bodies of the Soviet people, the Nazis, civilians of the Soviet people, partisans, citizens of other countries. They burned us in our homes, shot us, mocked us, belittled, trampled into the ground, did not consider us as people, and we, by the power of the spirit, weapons, heroism, bravery and courage to defend their home, their Homeland. After all, the Soviet army helped the other Nations of Europe to gain freedom and independence. Thanks to our friends the Americans for lend-lease.

From those people who have died, fought , nothing left only a memory.
They are alive - as long as memory stays in our hearts.

Glory to Warriors Liberators! With Victory Day!

Is it right that the bloodshed give way to the barbaric treatment of the German people at the end of the war?

I think not, but i leave it to others to take their own opinion.

Treatment to the German people? We did not commit in an enemy land, what they were doing. We did not rape, kill civilians, burn them in their homes or shoot them.

@Comrad Errr... Yes you did (Except burn them in their homes) One British Soldier had a story were a man had his wife's handbag stolen by Soviet soldiers and then when he attempted to stop them he was shot dead. This was one of many stories I could tell you.

The majority of the assaults were committed in the Soviet occupation zone; estimates of the numbers of German women raped by Soviet soldiers have ranged up to 2 million. Wikipedia even has a dedicated article to it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rape_during_the_occupation_of_Germany#cite_note-ElizabethHeineman-8

In the English version of Wikipedia this document is not available.

On April 20, 1945, the Supreme Command Directive of the Supreme Command issued the commander of troops and members of the military councils of the First Byelorussian and 1st Ukrainian Fronts No. 11072 on changing attitudes toward German prisoners of war and civilians [83] [84]:

    1. Demand that the attitude towards the Germans be changed both to prisoners of war and to civilians. To treat Germans better. A fierce attitude towards the Germans makes them fearful and forces them to stubbornly resist without surrendering. The civilian population, fearing revenge, is organized into gangs. This situation is unprofitable for us. A more humane attitude towards the Germans will make it easier for us to conduct combat operations on their territory and, undoubtedly, will reduce the persistence of the Germans on the defensive.
    2. In German regions west of the line, the mouth of the Oder River, Furstenberg, then the Neise River (to the west) create German administrations, and in the cities to put the German burgomasters. Ordinary members of the National Socialist Party, if they are loyal to the Red Army, do not touch, and only detain leaders if they do not manage to escape.
    3. Improving the attitude towards the Germans should not lead to a decrease in vigilance and familiarity with the Germans.
    • The Supreme High Command rate - J. Stalin
The commanders of the fronts were ordered to bring this directive "to every officer and soldier of the operating troops and institutions of the front" and "to make in parts the verification of the instructions of Comrade. Stalin by all categories of servicemen. "[85]

The commander of the 4th Panzer Army of the First Ukrainian Front, DD Lelyushenko, recalled [86]:

To the commanders of formations, units and political bodies, the military council of the army gave instructions to strengthen vigilance and military discipline in relation to the local population, recalled the international mission of the Red Army soldiers. On these issues, among the soldiers, explanatory work was conducted by all commanders, political workers, party and Komsomol organizations. Short halts during the refueling of tanks with fuel, replenishment of ammunition, in short, every minute was used for explanatory and educational work.

At the same time, the explanatory and educational work of political agencies was accompanied by strict punitive measures from the military commandant's offices and the military prosecutor's office. According to the military prosecutor's office, in the first months of 1945 more than 4,000 officers and a large number of soldiers were convicted of military riots committed by the military tribunals for committed atrocities against the local population. Several illustrative trials ended in the imposition of death sentences. [83]

These crimes still happened though, whatever the intentions of the upper brass may have been. I doubt highly that even 50% of these crimes were actually sent to a prosecution.

Soviet soldiers caught raping civilians were usually punished to some degree, ranging from arrest to execution. However, the rapes continued until the winter of 1947–48, when Soviet occupation authorities finally confined Soviet troops to strictly guarded posts and camps, separating them from the residential population in the Soviet zone of Germany.

May i say while I strongly support the Soviets what always lets the side down is the final occupation of Germany and the fact the crimes committed during are not to be brushed over. Did you see the Americans or British doing these crimes as much as the Soviets did?

By the way i apologize if I'm appearing like a git here, i just wanted to see your opinion. I do respect the losses taken by the Soviets.

You do understand that my Motherland suffered the most in the war, 4 long years, many deaths, executions, murders of ours, ordinary civilians. Our soldiers fought with all their strength, tried, and still defeated the Fascists, we liberated not only our country, but now everyone wants to blacken the memory of those people who put their lives on the altar of victory for us. It is very difficult to lose your loved ones, to look at their death with your own eyes, remember everything that our grandfathers, our relatives did for us. I apologize for the fact that our soldiers committed evil deeds, few, but they were.
After all, from those people nothing remains, only memory.
The banner of victory is washed by the blood of our people. Let's honor the memory of those who did not return home.

Well, ofc the thousands of German soldiers only doing their duty while still secretly hating Hitler and despising the regime they fought for, are no more than animals, right?!

You DO realise that the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany are considered two peas of the same pot, yes?

What the Nazis did were absolutely atrocious and they deserve their resting place in the history books as one of the most vile and despicable regimes to ever walk the earth...
But in our hurry to condemn them, we are all to eager to "forget" about the brutal and atrocious regime of the Soviet Union.

Really, to say that Stalin or the Soviet Union was any better or even different than Hitler or Nazi Germany, is to say that one sides murders, rapes and other crimes are more excusable than the other sides...

Do not forget that the Soviet Union is a Union of workers and peasants, who did not want to fight. Ordinary people fought for their land, for Home, for family, for the Motherland. We have no right to condemn those who killed to protect their homes, instead of to collect bread from the fields.
